Red Seal Pro Academy ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. This policy is intended to comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your email address, name (if provided), and password (stored securely, encrypted — we never see or store your plain-text password).
Usage information: We track your study activity within the Platform — such as which chapters you've viewed, practice question results, exam scores, and study streaks — in order to provide features like progress tracking, readiness scores, and personalized study plans.
Payment information: When you subscribe, payment is processed directly by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not collect or store your full credit card number, expiry date, or CVC on our own servers — Stripe handles this in compliance with PCI-DSS security standards. We receive limited information from Stripe necessary to manage your subscription (such as subscription status and the last 4 digits of your card, for your own reference).
Communications: If you email us at support@redsealproacademy.ca, we retain that correspondence to respond to your inquiry and for our records.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide access to the content and features you've paid for
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets, receipts)
- Track your study progress to power features like readiness scores and study plans
- Respond to support inquiries
- Improve the Platform based on aggregate usage patterns
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising purposes.
3. Third-Party Services We Use
We rely on the following third-party services to operate the Platform, each of which processes limited data on our behalf:

4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase's encrypted database infrastructure. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies/local storage required for account login and session management. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
- Withdraw consent for non-essential uses of your data (where applicable)

7. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide you services. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes (e.g., payment records).
8. Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for individuals pursuing trade certification and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal/regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
